Xiaomi 15 Pro Launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 6100mAh Battery, 2K Display and 5X Periscope Zoom Camera

  On 29th October, Xiaomi 15 Pro was launched in China as one of the world's first Snapdragon 8 Elite phones. With the announcement of this model as part of the Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi beat Honor, iQOO and OnePlus in the race to launch first the Snapdragon 8 Elite phone.

Xiaomi 15 Pro Specifications

Speaking of dimensions, the Xiaomi 15 Pro measures 161.3 x 75.3 x 8.4mm (regular) / 8.7mm (Bright Silver). Its weight is about 213 grams (Regular / 219 grams (Bright Silver).

Moving to its display, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is powered by a 6.73-inch OLED LPTO micro-quad-curved screen with 3200 x 1440p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Other display parameters are 3200 nits peak local brightness, 1000 nits HBM brightness, and DC dimming.

As we explained earlier, this phone comes armed with a new 3nm-based Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage are supported. It features Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro rocks a 6100mAh battery which supports  90W wired, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

To get the handset cooler after heavy usage, the Xiaomi 15 Pro makes use of its inbuilt 4053mm² wing-shaped ring cooling system.

There is a 32MP (OmniVision OV32B40) camera on the front and a triple camera system at the back consisting of a 50MP OmniVision Light Fusion 900 wide camera (OIS, 5x lossless zoom), a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP Sony IX858 periscope telephoto camera with OIS, 5x optical and 20x hybrid zoom. 8K video recording is supported.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro comes with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, an x-axis linear motor, quad microphones, laser autofocus

Besides the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Xiaomi 15 Pro comes with multiple self-developed chipsets, Surge P3 fast charging chip, G1 battery management chip, T1 signal management chip, and comes with support for network-free communication and magnetic case.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro comes with a wide range of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster, and USB-C (3.2 Gen 1).

It should also be understood that Xiaomi used Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection for screen and back panels and for dust and water resistance, this device is IP68 rated.

Xiaomi 15 Pro Colours, Variants and Pricing

The Xiaomi 15 Pro comes in three variants with its base 12GB+256GB variant retailing at 5,299 CNY (~Rs 62,470 | ~$740). The mid-trim variant (16GB+512GB) comes in at 5,799 CNY (~Rs 68,365 | ~$815) whereas the 16GB+1TB version is priced at  6,499 CNY (~Rs 76,615 | ~$910).

There are four colour choices available for this version which are Bright Silver, Rock Gray , White and Spruce Green.
