Asus took the lid off its newest ROG Phone 9 series gaming phones, Asus ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro.
The basic ROG Phone 9 model starts at $999 | €1,099 for the 12GB+256GB variant and goes up to €1,149 for the 12GB+512GB version.
The Pro version comes in two configurations, a 16GB+512GB option which sells for $1,199 | €1,199 and the ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition with a 24GB+1TB RAM+ storage combination comes in at $1,499 | €1,499.The standard model has two colour choices: Phantom Black and Storm White. On the other hand, ROG Phone 9 Pro is only offered in Phantom Black.
Asus ROG Phone 9 Series Specifications
Both Asus ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro come packed with a 6.78-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED display and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Other display parameters are FHD+ (1080 x 2400p resolution), 185Hz refresh rate, 1600nits HBM brightness, and 2500nits peak brightness.
LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage are supported. These machines feature 5-magnet dual speakers with Dirac Virtuo, a 3.5mm audio jack, an in-display fingerprint scanner, AirTrigger, an IP68 rating, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for display, and are built using aluminium frames.
Both models are powered by a 5,800mAh battery with QC 5.0 and PD 3.0 and come with support for 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
For optics, the ROG Phone 9 and Phone 9 Pro feature a 32MP selfie snapper. The rear camera system for a standard consists of 50MP (Sony LYT-700, gimbal OIS), a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. On the other hand, the Pro version comes with a 50MP (Sony LYT-700, gimbal OIS), a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Connectivity features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and GPS.
On the software side, these gaming phones come preloaded with Android 15-based ROG UI and will receive two generations of Android OS and four security upgrades.
Additionally, the dimensions are 163.8 x 76.8x 8.9mm and the weight is around 227g.
