The foldables keep coming and unlike four years ago, nowadays almost every big smartphone maker has entered the market. And nowadays, they are not all pricy as, just like with normal slab phones, the phone makers also make budget-friendly and midrange foldables.
Today we have obtained information detailing almost everything about the upcoming flip-style phone (Nova Flip) by Huawei's subbrand Nova. Our source reveals specifications, launch timeframe as well as possible pricing for this vertical foldable.
Nova Flip: Launch Timeframe And Pricing
Our source is telling us that Huawei's subsidiary company Nova will be launching its first flip foldable phone in the first week of August.
It is also believed that the pricing of the Nova Flip will start at 5,000 yuan, which by current currency conversion is around 688 US dollars.
Nova Flip Specifications
Jumping into specifications, the Huawei Nova Flip foldable will make use of a Kirin 9010E processor. For those unaware, the Kirin 9010E is a hexacore processor that features one Taishan core running at 2.19GHz, two mid-performance Taishan cores clocking at 2.18GHz and three power efficiency Cortex-A510 cores operating at 1.55GHz. The SoC is paired with a Maleoon 910 GPU with a frequency of 750MHz.
The Nova Flip foldable is expected to carry a massive 5500mAh battery and support up to 66 watts of rapid wired charging. It is not clear how they will manage to put that large 5500mAh battery inside a flip foldable, so this detail about the battery size seems far-fetched.
Other details are still unknown but we expect the company to share them as we near the official announcement of the device.
