Nothing Phone 1 Vs CMF Phone 1: Specs Comparison

 Introduction

The first-gen Nothing Phone was launched on July 12th, 2022 while the CMF Phone 1 was launched two years later on 2024, July 08th.


Dimensions and Weight

The CMF Phone 1 measures 164.0 x 77.0 x 8.2mm while the Nothing Phone 1 measures 159.2 x 75.8 x 8.3 mm (6.27 x 2.98 x 0.33 in). Regarding their weight, the newly-launched CMF Phone 1 weighs about 197 g or 202 g while the Nothing Phone 1 has a weight of 193.5 grams.



Build Materials

To make a CMF Phone 1, Nothing used glass material for the front panel and plastic for the back panel. While for the Nothing Phone 1, the firm used a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the front and back panels and aluminium for the frame.

Display

Speaking of displays, the CMF Phone 1 rocks a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. On The other hand, the Nothing Phone 1  features a  6.55" OLED display with up to 1200 nits of pea brightness.  Both panels support HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 pixels of resolution.

Operating System

Nothing Phone 1 debuted with Android 12 in 2022 while the CMF Phone 1 comes preloaded with Android 14.

Performance

The  CMF Phone 1 comes packed with a 4nm octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 7300 processor coupled with Mali-G615 MC2 while the Nothing Phone 1 features a 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G+ 5G processor backed up with Adreno 642L graphics. The Dimensity 7300 features an eight-core CPU that includes four 2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 performance cores and four 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 efficiency cores whereas the Snapdragon 778G+ features eight processing cores:1x2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 3x2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x1.9 GHz Cortex-A55.

RAM

The CMF Phone 1 features up to 8GB of RAM  on its higher variant with its other variants carrying 6GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Nothing Phone 1 comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM depending on variants or regions.

Storage

Both Nothing Phone 1 and CMF Phone 1 start at 128GB and max out at 256GB. With the CMF Phone 1, you can increase the storage capacity via a microSD card but you can not do the same with the Nothing Phone 1.

Front Camera

Both Nothing Phone 1 and CMF Phone 1 are equipped with a 16MP front-facing camera.

Rear Camera

The CMF Phone 1 comes with a dual-camera setup including a wide and a depth camera (50MP+2MP). On the other hand, the Nothing Phone 1 offers wide and ultrawide cameras, both offering higher resolution (50MP+50MP).

Video Recording

You can record videos at 1080p at 30 framerates per second using the front camera available in either Nothing Phone 1 or CMF Phone 1.

Also, the rear camera systems of both devices offer the same capabilities: You can film 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30/60fps.

Battery

The CMF Phone 1 packs in a large 5000mAh battery while the Nothing Phone 1 features a 4500mAh battery.

Charging Options And Speeds

There are more charging options with the Nothing Phone 1 model: The Nothing Phone 1 supports 33W fast wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.

On The other hand, the CMF Phone 1 supports 33W fast wired charging and 5W reverse wired charging. It lacks wireless charging support.

Connectivity

Both support 5G, dual-band WiFi 6 and feature a USB 2.0 port. What sets them apart in this segment is the CMF Phone 1 does not support NFC and features a faster Bluetooth technology (BT 5.3 Vs BT 5.2)

Storage Configurations

The CMF Phone 1 comes in three configurations which are 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM, and 256GB 8GB RAM while the Nothing Phone 1 is also available in three storage options which are 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, and 256GB 12GB RAM.

Colour Options

Speaking of colour choices, the CMF Phone 1 is available in three choices which are Black, Orange, and Light Green whereas the Nothing Phone 1 is only offered in Black and White colour options.

Water Resistivity

The Nothing Phone 1 has a dust and water resistance rating of IP55.
